The cloth
A softer fibre, kept honest.
Lenzing Certified™ fibres are spun from responsibly sourced botanical pulp in a closed-loop system — water and solvent return to the line instead of the river. The certification follows the fibre from forest to thread, so every metre we cut can be traced back to its source.
We chose it because it behaves the way a Lannée hijab should: fluid on the shoulder, breathable against the skin, with a quiet matte finish that reads as restraint rather than shine.

Lannée is rooted in two cultures — a Parisian sense of restraint and an older textile tradition of slow, careful finishing. The Lenzing series sits at that meeting point: a certified modern fibre, finished by hand the way our atelier has always finished cloth.

Where the fibre comes from.
What does Lenzing Certified™ actually verify?
It verifies the fibre, not the finished hijab. Lenzing certifies the fibre at source — pulp, mill and chain of custody — so the cellulose in our cloth can be traced from a managed forest through to the thread on our loom.
What does ‘closed-loop’ mean in practice?
The solvent used to turn botanical pulp into fibre is captured and reused — up to 99% — instead of being discharged. Process water is recovered the same way. The result is a softer cloth made with markedly less water and chemical waste than conventional viscose.
Can you prove the cloth in my hijab is the certified fibre?
Yes. Every Lenzing series bolt arrives with a certificate referencing the fibre batch. We keep those records against each production run, so a piece can be traced back to its yarn.
Craft & process
How this series is different.
How is the Lenzing series different from our regular Modal or Jersey?
The hand is similar — fluid, matte, breathable — but the yarn is certified and the run is deliberately small. We also reserve our slowest finishing for this series: hems are turned and pressed by hand, edges are checked piece by piece.
Why is the series kept so small?
Certified fibre is allocated in limited quantities, and hand-finishing takes time. Keeping each release small lets us hold the standard rather than scale around it.
Will it feel different after a few wears?
It should feel more itself, not less. The fibre softens with wear and the drape settles. Cold wash, lay flat, keep it out of direct sun and the cloth holds its quiet for years.

How do I choose between Modal, Jersey and Chiffon?
Modal drapes close to the body with a matte finish — our everyday signature. Jersey is knit and breathable with a little stretch, for the hours that don't slow down. Chiffon is weightless and refined, for occasions that ask for something quieter than ornament.
Should my first Lannée piece be from the Lenzing series?
If you want a single, considered piece to live with for a long time, yes. If you are building a small rotation for daily wear, start with Modal or Jersey and add a Lenzing piece when you want something held back for the days that matter.

Care & keeping
How to keep this cloth quiet.
Lenzing Certified™ fibres reward a slower hand. A few habits keep the drape true and the matte finish intact, wear after wear.

Cold hand wash, or 30°C delicate.
A pH-neutral detergent is enough. Skip bleach, brighteners and fabric softener — they dull the matte and shorten the fibre's life.

Press the water out, never wring.
Fold the hijab between two clean towels and press gently. Wringing breaks the fluid drape this fibre is chosen for.

Lay flat, away from direct sun.
Dry on a flat towel in shade. Hanging while wet pulls the cloth out of shape; sun fades the colour.

Steam, don't iron.
If a piece needs refreshing, a low steam from a distance is enough. If you must iron, keep it cool and place a cotton cloth between iron and hijab.

Fold loosely, store where it breathes.
Keep pieces folded loosely in a breathable cotton pouch or drawer, away from light. Tight folds set creases, and plastic bags keep natural fibres from breathing.
